Frequently asked questions

Can I apply aloe vera gel on my face daily?

Yes, most people can. Patch-test first and stop if you get itching or a rash.

Aloe vera gel for pimples: does it help?

It may soothe the look of redness, but evidence that it clears acne is limited. See a dermatologist for persistent acne.

Can aloe vera gel remove dark spots or tanning?

There is little good evidence for that. Sunscreen and dermatologist-recommended ingredients have stronger data for dark spots.

Can I use aloe vera gel as a moisturiser?

For oily skin, it can be enough. Dry skin usually needs a cream on top.

Can I leave aloe vera gel on my face overnight?

Yes, if it does not irritate your skin. Some people prefer to rinse in the morning.

Is aloe vera gel good for hair?

Some people use it as a light scalp or hair gel. Evidence for hair growth is limited.

Is 99% aloe vera gel really pure?

The figure usually refers to aloe content in the formula; the remaining percentage includes thickeners and preservatives needed to keep it safe.

Can aloe vera gel be used after sunburn?

It may make mild sunburnt skin feel cooler. Seek medical care for blistering, fever or large burns, and always prevent burns with sunscreen.
