Can I take two Telma 40 instead of one Telma 80?

When is Telma 80 prescribed?
When 40 mg has been taken for 4–8 weeks and BP is still above the target, or when a higher dose is needed for kidney protection in diabetes. It is the maximum usual dose.
Does Telma 80 have more side effects?
The same side effects – dizziness, high potassium, kidney changes – can be a little more likely at the higher dose. Blood tests for potassium and creatinine are advised at both strengths.
