Pradaxa 110 vs Pradaxa 150 – which do I need?
150 mg twice daily is the standard dose. 110 mg twice daily is chosen for people over 80, those with reduced kidney function, higher bleeding risk, or who also take verapamil. Your cardiologist decides based on your kidneys and age.
Why can't I open or crush Pradaxa capsules?
Opening the capsule or taking the pellets alone increases absorption by about 75 percent, which greatly raises bleeding risk. Always swallow the capsule whole with water.
Why must Pradaxa stay in its original bottle?
Dabigatran capsules absorb moisture and lose potency. Keep them in the original bottle or blister, close the cap tightly, and do not transfer them to a pill organiser.
