Frequently asked questions

Atorva 10 morning or night?

Atorvastatin works for 24 hours, so it can be taken at any time as long as it is the same time each day. Night-time dosing is a common habit but not essential for atorvastatin.

Can I take Atorva 10 with alcohol?

Occasional moderate drinking is usually acceptable, but heavy or regular drinking with a statin raises the risk of liver damage. Keep it low and tell your doctor how much you drink.

Can I stop Atorva 10 once my cholesterol is normal?

No. Your cholesterol is normal because of the medicine. Stopping it lets cholesterol rise again and removes the heart protection. Any change should be your doctor's decision.

Does Atorva cause muscle pain?

Mild muscle aches are a known side effect. Severe pain, weakness or dark urine is rare but serious – stop and see a doctor immediately.
