What Clindamycin 300 mg is used for
- Skin and soft tissue infections such as abscesses, boils and infected wounds.
- Dental infections and bone or joint infections.
- Chest, pelvic and other serious bacterial infections, often in people allergic to penicillin.
- Severe acne when other treatments fail, under a dermatologist.
- Sometimes with other drugs for malaria or toxoplasmosis.

What is Dalacin C 300 used for?
It is an antibiotic for skin, soft tissue, dental, bone and some pelvic and chest infections, and is often chosen for people allergic to penicillin. It does not work for colds or viral fevers.
Dalacin C 300 before or after food?
Either, but take it with a full glass of water and stay upright for 30 minutes so the capsule does not irritate the food pipe. Taking it with food can reduce nausea.
Can I take Dalacin C 300 with alcohol?
There is no direct interaction, but alcohol worsens nausea and dehydration and slows recovery, so it is best avoided during the course.
Why does clindamycin cause diarrhoea?
Like all antibiotics it disturbs gut bacteria. Mild diarrhoea is common, but watery or bloody diarrhoea with cramps or fever can be a serious bowel infection and needs a doctor immediately, even if it starts weeks after the course.
