Thyronorm 25 contains levothyroxine 25 mcg, a synthetic thyroid hormone. It treats an underactive thyroid and is often the starting or fine-tuning dose, especially in older people or those with heart disease.

Food, tea, coffee and milk reduce how much levothyroxine your body absorbs. Taking it first thing in the morning with water, 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast, keeps your dose consistent.

Both are levothyroxine from different manufacturers and work the same way. Small absorption differences can exist between brands, so stick to one brand and tell your doctor if the chemist substitutes.
