What Metoclopramide 10 mg is used for
- Nausea and vomiting, including after surgery or during migraine attacks.
- Nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
- Slow stomach emptying (gastroparesis) causing bloating and fullness, as prescribed by a doctor.
Frequently asked questions
Perinorm before or after food?
Take it about 30 minutes before meals so it is working when you eat. Keep at least 6 hours between doses.
Perinorm vs Domstal (domperidone) – which is better for vomiting?
Both treat nausea and vomiting. Domperidone does not enter the brain as much, so it causes fewer movement side effects and drowsiness; metoclopramide (Perinorm) is often preferred for migraine-related vomiting and when stronger effect is needed. Your doctor chooses based on the cause.
Can I take Perinorm daily for a long time?
No. Metoclopramide is meant for short courses of up to about 5 days. Longer use raises the risk of tardive dyskinesia – uncontrollable movements that can become permanent.
Does Perinorm cause sleepiness?
Yes, drowsiness is common. Do not drive, ride a bike or use machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol.
