About Company:

Medyzen is a managed hospital pharmacy company operating across India. We partner with hospitals, clinics and nursing homes to run fully licensed, professionally staffed in-house pharmacies — handling drug licensing, pharmacist staffing, inventory, compliance and fulfilment end to end. Founded in 2025, we focus on bringing reliable, well-run pharmacy infrastructure to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

The Role:

Medyzen is building the operating layer for pharmacy and healthcare delivery in India — patient app, hospital/warehouse panels, and a Go backend serving real prescription and order data at scale. We're looking for an AI Engineer to build and ship LLM-based features (prescription parsing/OCR-assist, patient support, ops copilots) and lightweight ML pipelines that plug directly into our production Go backend and React/Next.js panels — not a research role, a build-and-ship one.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and ship LLM-powered features (e.g. prescription text extraction assist, support triage, internal copilots) integrated into the existing Go backend and panel/mobile clients
  • Build and maintain ML/data pipelines (ingestion, feature extraction, evaluation) that run reliably in production, not just notebooks
  • Own model selection, prompt/context design, and evaluation harnesses for LLM features; iterate against real usage data
  • Work directly with backend engineers to expose ML/LLM functionality as backend APIs consumed by Go services
  • Instrument and monitor model/pipeline behavior in production (latency, cost, accuracy drift) and own the on-call/incident response for what you ship
  • Collaborate with product and clinical/ops stakeholders to scope features against real healthcare workflows (prescriptions, patient support) — this is YMYL territory, accuracy and guardrails matter

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years building and shipping production software, with hands-on LLM/ML feature work (not coursework-only)
  • Strong Python; comfortable reading/writing Go, or willing to work directly in our Go backend
  • Practical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI/Anthropic/open-weight), prompt engineering, RAG, and evaluation methodology
  • Experience taking an ML/LLM feature from prototype to a production system with real users and real failure modes
  • Comfortable working in a small team, owning a feature end-to-end (backend integration through to what the user sees)
  • Nice to have: healthcare/health-tech or other regulated/YMYL domain experience; OCR/document extraction pipeline experience; familiarity with Next.js/React panels or Expo/React Native
