Alprax 0.25 contains alprazolam 0.25 mg, a benzodiazepine. It is prescribed for short-term relief of anxiety and panic disorder, and sometimes at bedtime for anxiety-related sleep problems.
Alprax 0.25 vs Alprax 0.5 – which should I take?
0.25 mg is the usual starting dose; 0.5 mg is used if anxiety is not controlled. Only your doctor should change the dose, because higher doses increase drowsiness and dependence risk.
Is Alprax habit-forming?
Yes. Alprazolam can cause dependence within weeks of regular use, and stopping suddenly causes withdrawal – rebound anxiety, shaking, insomnia and rarely seizures. That is why it is a Schedule H1 drug in India and meant for short courses.
Can I take Alprax 0.25 with alcohol?
No. Alcohol and alprazolam together cause heavy sedation and can slow breathing to a dangerous level.
