What Medroxyprogesterone acetate 10 mg is used for
- Abnormal or heavy uterine bleeding caused by hormone imbalance.
- Absent periods (secondary amenorrhoea) – to bring on a withdrawal bleed.
- Protecting the uterine lining in women taking oestrogen for menopause symptoms.
- Endometriosis and some hormone-related gynaecological conditions, under a specialist.
Frequently asked questions
When will my period come after Deviry 10?
A withdrawal bleed usually starts 2 to 7 days after the last tablet. If no bleeding comes within about 2 weeks, do a pregnancy test and tell your doctor.
Can Meprate 10 stop a heavy period that has already started?
Doctors sometimes prescribe it to control ongoing heavy bleeding, but the schedule is different from the one used to bring on a period. Follow your gynaecologist's instructions exactly and seek help if bleeding is very heavy.
Is Deviry 10 a contraceptive?
No. The 10 mg tablet does not reliably prevent pregnancy. Use condoms or another method if you need contraception.
Can I take Meprate 10 if I might be pregnant?
No. Do a pregnancy test first. Medroxyprogesterone should not be used to confirm pregnancy or to prevent miscarriage.
