Frequently asked questions

Nexpro 40 before or after food?

Before food. Take it first thing in the morning about an hour before breakfast so the medicine is working when your stomach starts producing acid for the meal.

Nexpro 40 vs Nexpro RD 40 – what is the difference?

Nexpro 40 contains only esomeprazole 40 mg. Nexpro RD adds domperidone, which speeds stomach emptying and helps with nausea, bloating and regurgitation. Your doctor chooses based on your symptoms.

Esomeprazole vs pantoprazole – which is better?

Both are PPIs and heal ulcers and reflux well. Esomeprazole is slightly stronger at suppressing acid, while pantoprazole has fewer interactions, especially with clopidogrel. Your doctor picks based on your other medicines and response.

Can I take Nexpro 40 with alcohol?

There is no direct drug interaction, but alcohol increases acid and reflux and will reduce the benefit. Limit alcohol during treatment.
