Frequently asked questions
Pan 40 before or after food?
Before food. Take Pan 40 about 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast so the medicine is active when your stomach starts making acid for the meal.
Can I take Pan 40 daily for a long time?
Only if your doctor has reviewed you. Short courses of 4 to 8 weeks are usual. Taking pantoprazole for many months can lower magnesium and vitamin B12 and may increase fracture risk, so long-term use needs a doctor's supervision.
Can I take Pan 40 with alcohol?
There is no direct drug interaction, but alcohol worsens acidity and reflux and will undo the benefit. Keep alcohol to a minimum during treatment.
Is Pan 40 available without prescription in India?
Pantoprazole is a Schedule H medicine, which means it should be sold only against a doctor's prescription. Chemists are required to see a prescription.
