Uses
- Erectile dysfunction (difficulty getting or keeping an erection).
- Urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (BPH) – weak stream, frequent night-time urination.
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension (high pressure in the lung blood vessels), at doses set by a specialist.
How to take it
For erection problems, swallow one tablet whole with water about 30 minutes before sex, with or without food. It works only with sexual stimulation and the effect can last up to 36 hours, so never take more than one tablet in 24 hours. Do not combine with sildenafil (Viagra) or another erection medicine on the same day. If your doctor has prescribed a lower daily dose for prostate symptoms, take it at the same time each day. Avoid grapefruit juice. See a doctor straight away if an erection lasts more than 4 hours.
Side effects
Common
- Headache.
- Flushed face, blocked or stuffy nose.
- Indigestion or heartburn.
- Back pain, muscle aches, pain in arms or legs.
- Dizziness – wait until it passes before driving.
Serious
Stop and get medical help urgently if you notice any of these.
- Erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism) – go to a hospital emergency room; delay can cause permanent damage.
- Sudden loss of vision or hearing, ringing in the ears – stop and seek urgent help.
- Chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath or fainting during or after sex.
- Severe allergic reaction – swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty breathing.
Safety information
Alcohol
A small drink is usually fine, but alcohol plus tadalafil can drop blood pressure and make you dizzy, and heavy drinking itself makes erections harder to get.
Pregnancy
This is a medicine for men. It is not for use by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding except for lung hypertension under specialist care.
Kidney problems
Tell your doctor about kidney disease – a lower dose or less frequent use may be needed, and daily dosing may not be suitable.
Liver problems
May not be suitable in moderate to severe liver disease; your doctor will decide the dose.
Children
Not for anyone under 18.
Missed dose
For as-needed use there is no missed dose. For once-daily use, take it when you remember unless the next dose is nearly due – never take two in one day.
Interactions
- Nitrates for chest pain (sorbitrate/isosorbide, nitroglycerin, GTN spray) – NEVER combine; blood pressure can crash dangerously.
- Recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrite), cocaine, amphetamines – same dangerous drop in blood pressure.
- Alpha-blockers for prostate or BP such as tamsulosin (Urimax), alfuzosin, prazosin – dizziness and fainting; your doctor may start with a low dose.
- Antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), clarithromycin, erythromycin and HIV protease medicines – raise tadalafil levels; a lower dose is needed.
- Rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin – make tadalafil work less well.
- Other erection medicines (sildenafil, vardenafil) and riociguat – do not combine.
Frequently asked questions
How long before sex should I take Tadacip 20?
Take it about 30 minutes before sexual activity. Unlike sildenafil it stays active for up to 36 hours, which is why it is nicknamed the "weekend pill". It still needs sexual stimulation to work – it does not cause an erection on its own.
Can I take Megalis 20 every day?
No. The 20 mg tablet is an as-needed dose and must not be taken more than once in 24 hours. If you want daily treatment, your doctor can prescribe a much smaller daily dose of tadalafil instead. Do not increase the dose yourself.
Can I take Tadacip 20 with alcohol?
One or two drinks are usually fine, but more than that can combine with tadalafil to lower blood pressure, causing dizziness, headache and fainting. Heavy drinking also worsens erectile dysfunction, so it defeats the purpose.
Tadalafil 20 mg vs sildenafil 100 mg – which is better?
Both are PDE5 inhibitors and work similarly. Sildenafil (Viagra, Manforce) acts faster but lasts 4 to 6 hours and is affected by food; tadalafil takes a little longer but lasts up to 36 hours and can be taken with meals. Your doctor will pick based on your health, other medicines and how you want to use it. Never take both together.
Is Tadacip 20 safe for heart patients?
Only after a doctor checks you. Tadalafil is strictly forbidden with nitrate medicines (sorbitrate, GTN) and in people with recent heart attack, stroke, uncontrolled blood pressure or severe heart failure. Sex itself puts strain on the heart, so your cardiologist must say it is safe first.
What if my erection does not go away after Tazzle 20?
An erection lasting more than 4 hours is a medical emergency called priapism. Go to a hospital immediately; waiting can permanently damage the penis.
Does tadalafil help with prostate (BPH) problems?
Yes. Tadalafil relaxes muscle in the prostate and bladder and is approved for urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate, usually at a low once-daily dose rather than 20 mg. Ask your urologist; it can be combined carefully with tamsulosin.
Does Super Manforce or Tadacip 20 delay ejaculation?
Plain tadalafil 20 mg does not treat premature ejaculation; it treats weak erections. Some combination brands add dapoxetine for ejaculation control – check the composition on the strip and ask your doctor, because the combination has its own side effects.
Do I need a prescription to buy Tadacip 20 in India?
Yes. Tadalafil is a Schedule H prescription medicine. Buying it without a doctor's check is risky because of the heart and nitrate interactions, and online "generic" sellers often supply fake or under-dosed tablets.
