Uses
- Erectile dysfunction (erection problems) in men.
- Urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), where the low daily dose is used.
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the lung arteries), under specialist care.
How to take it
Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. For erection problems your doctor may prescribe it as a once-daily tablet taken at the same time every day (the 10 mg strength is often used this way or taken about 30 minutes before sex); its effect can last up to 36 hours. Never take more than one tablet in 24 hours. Tadalafil only works with sexual stimulation. If you bought it without seeing a doctor, get a check-up within a few months, because erection problems can be an early sign of diabetes or heart disease.

Safety information
Alcohol
Alcohol with tadalafil can drop your blood pressure and make you dizzy or light-headed. Heavy drinking also makes erections harder to get, so keep alcohol low.
Pregnancy
Tadalafil is a medicine for men. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take it unless a specialist prescribes it for lung hypertension.
Kidney problems
Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease; a lower dose or less frequent dosing may be needed.
Liver problems
May not be suitable if you have serious liver disease. Your doctor will decide the dose.
Children
Not for use in children or teenagers under 18.
Missed dose
If you take it daily and miss a dose, take it when you remember unless the next dose is due soon – then skip it. Never take two doses together.
Interactions
- Nitrates for angina (sorbitrate, isosorbide, GTN sprays) – never combine; blood pressure can crash dangerously.
- Alpha-blockers for prostate or BP (tamsulosin, prazosin) and other BP medicines – can cause dizziness and fainting; your doctor will time the doses.
- Antibiotics and antifungals such as clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, and HIV medicines – can raise tadalafil levels.
- Rifampicin (TB) and some epilepsy medicines – can make tadalafil work less well.
- Recreational drugs ("poppers", amphetamines, cocaine) – dangerous; avoid.
- Grapefruit juice – avoid, it can raise tadalafil levels.
Frequently asked questions
How long before sex should I take Megalis 10?
Take it about 30 minutes before sex. Tadalafil stays active for up to 36 hours, so you do not have to time it exactly, but you still need sexual stimulation for it to work. Do not take more than one tablet in a day.
Can I take Tazzle 10 with alcohol?
A small amount is usually tolerated, but alcohol plus tadalafil can lower your blood pressure and cause dizziness. Heavy drinking also makes erections harder to achieve, so it works against the medicine.
Tadalafil 10 vs 20 – which should I take?
10 mg is the usual starting dose for on-demand use; your doctor may move you to 20 mg if 10 mg is not enough, or to a lower daily dose if you use it often. Do not increase the dose on your own, especially if you have heart or BP problems.
Is Megalis 10 safe for the heart?
Tadalafil is generally safe if your heart is healthy enough for sexual activity. It must never be taken with nitrates (sorbitrate, GTN) used for angina, and people with recent heart attack, stroke or uncontrolled BP should not take it without a cardiologist's advice.
Can I take Tadacip 10 every day?
Tadalafil can be prescribed as a low-dose daily tablet, particularly for men who also have prostate symptoms. Daily use should be decided by a doctor, not started on your own.
Does tadalafil 10 mg need a prescription in India?
Yes. Tadalafil is a Schedule H medicine and the chemist needs a doctor's prescription. Buying it without a check-up means you may miss an underlying cause like diabetes or heart disease.
What if the erection does not go away after Tazzle 10?
An erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism) is an emergency because it can permanently damage the penis. Go to the nearest hospital casualty immediately.
Can tadalafil 10 be taken with food?
Yes. Unlike some other ED tablets, tadalafil works whether you take it with or without food. Avoid grapefruit juice and keep alcohol low.
