How to take it

Take one tablet once or twice a day after meals, as your doctor or the label advises, with a full glass of water – calcium carbonate is absorbed better with food. Do not take more than advised: the NHS says calcium from supplements should be kept to 1,500 mg a day or less, and adults should not take more than 4,000 IU of vitamin D a day from all sources. Keep this tablet 1–2 hours apart from other medicines and at least 4 hours from thyroid tablets. Tell your doctor before starting if you have kidney stones, kidney disease or high calcium.
